Tasmania JackJumpers Players
Will Magnay – Gold Coast Rollers
Will Magnay and the Gold Coast Rollers recorded a 6 point win over the weekend. Magnay had a 19 point 14 rebound double double, which also included 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block.

Sean Macdonald – Darwin Salties
Sean Macdonald and the Darwin Salties had two games over the weekend. In the first game Sean had 16 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists in a game where Darwin came away 18-point victors.

In the second game of the weekend the Salties got a 7-point win making it a perfect weekend for the Salties.  Sean recorded 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in the win.

Gorjok Gak – Rockingham Flames
Gorjok Gak made his return to Rockingham this weekend after missing a couple of weeks. He was able to contribute 14 points, grab 7 rebounds, as well as 1 assist, and 1 block.

Fabijan Krslovic – West Adelaide Bearcats
Fabijan Krslovic helped the West Adelaide Bearcats come away 28 point victors on Saturday. Fab scored 26points, pulled down 12 rebounds, and dished out 9 assists. He was also able to get 2 steals as well during the clash.



Majok Deng – Al Ahly Ly – The BAL
Majok Deng played in the final of the BAL on the weekend, Majok had 24 points in the final where he top-scored for the team. He was also able to get 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Unfortunately Majok was unable to come up with the victory losing 107-94.

WOMENS
Hobart Chargers (96) defeated Launceston Tornadoes (85)

The Hobart Chargers withstood 39 points from Keely Froling to win the battle of Tasmania with the Friday night 96-85 home victory against the Launceston Tornadoes.

The two Tasmanian teams locked horns at Hobart Netball and Sports Centre with both teams having their turn of a four-point lead in the opening quarter.

By quarter-time it was a 24-21 lead for the Chargers on their home floor before the home team pushed out to an eight-point advantage in the second period and were still on top 52-46 at the main break.

Hobart pulled away further in the third quarter with the lead growing out to as much as 17 points, and that would prove a game-winning advantage with the Chargers to end up winning by 11.

The victory improves Hobart to a 5-9 record on the season with Jayda Jansen outstanding with 29 points, five rebounds and four assists with 5/7 from three-point territory.

Cierra Walker also put up 27 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three assists, Zoe Banks 12 points, Zoe Richards 10 points, six boards and two blocks, and Chloe Broomhall eight points, 14 rebounds, six assists and four steals.

The Tornadoes are now 4-10 with the defeat with Keely Froling outstanding with 39 points and six rebounds on shooting 15/26 from the floor and 7/8 from the foul line.

Sarah O'Neill also had 12 points and two assists, Lore Devos 10 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and two steals, and Macey Crawford 10 points, six assists and two boards.

MENS

Hobart Chargers (88) defeated North West Tasmania Thunder (73)

The Hobart Chargers made it three consecutive wins on Friday night winning the battle of Tasmania 88-73 at home to the North West Tasmania Thunder.

The Chargers were back home at Hobart Netball and Sports Centre on a two-game winning run hosting a North West team trying to bounce back from a loss to the Waverley Falcons and looking to stay in the playoff race.

Hobart were leading 20-16 by quarter-time and then would end up taking charge further in the second period by opening up a lead as big as 15 points before heading into the half-time break on top 42-33.

The lead for the Chargers grew to as much as 17 points in the final quarter as well before the home team would go on to score the 15-point victory in the clash of the two Tasmanian teams in the NBL1 South.

The victory improves Hobart to a 9-5 record on the season with three consecutive wins with Vionte Daniels starring with 31 points, three steals, two assists and two rebounds on 10/19 shooting from the field, 3/5 from downtown and 8/8 at the foul line.

Terrell Brown added 21 points, four assists and three rebounds, Ole Angerstein 15 points and nine boards, and Joe Chilcott six points, six rebounds and two assists.

North West Tasmania are now 6-8 on the season with the defeat which saw Seth Swalve top-score with 32 points, five rebounds and three assists with 6/9 shooting from three-point land.

Sekou Sylla contributed 12 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals, and Isaac Atuer 10 points.
