JackJumpers on the march in NBL27
NBL27 is set to be yet another epic season for the Tasmania JackJumpers - the much-loved Boxing Day battle is back and a new showdown on Show Day eve is coming in hot.
The JackJumpers will host 16 home games, kicking off with a night game against the South East Melbourne Phoenix at the MyState Bank Arena.
The first of two games at the Silverdome will be one for the books, with the JackJumpers taking on NBL26 champions, the Sydney Kings in Round Seven on Friday October 30.
The Ignite Cup will start with a new feature, a Wednesday night showdown against the Brisbane Bullets on the eve of the Royal Hobart Show holiday.
The JackJumpers will again be playing on Boxing Day, joining the Boxing Day Test and the Rolex Sydney to Hobart as sporting Holy Trinity of the summer calendar.
The Ant Army will also be able start the year on the march with the team again securing a home-game on New Year’s Day against the Perth Wildcats.
Importantly, the Teal Game has been locked in for Sunday January 31, fittingly on the eve of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
JackJumpers General Manager for Basketball Operations Darren Smith said fans should strap themselves in.
“The schedule is action packed and we have a sensational team taking shape, NBL27 is going to be big,” Smith said.
“We can’t wait for our fans to see the return of our OG Will Magnay and fan favorite Majok Deng, plus that first glimpse of our hometown hero Taran Armstrong in action too.
“We’re counting down the sleeps until that first tip-off in front of our home crowd on September 21, and another season to defend the island.”
