Thank you Sean Macdonald
The Tasmania JackJumpers sincerely thank Sean Macdonald for his time at the club and wish him all the best for his future.
General Manager of Basketball Operations Darren Smith said the club and Macdonald were mutually parting ways to allow him to pursue other opportunities ahead of the NBL27.
“Sean has been a leading example of the grit and grind that our club is built on,” Smith said.
“We have watched him grow from a development player into a valuable rostered player, showing immense mental fortitude in the face of his Anterior Cruciate Ligament injuries.
“He’ll be missed at the club and in our community too. On behalf of the club, we all wish Sean the very best for a bright future.”
Macdonald said he was extremely grateful for his time with the JackJumpers and calling Tasmania home.
“I’m thankful to everyone for making me feel so welcome and supporting me,” Macdonald said. “I’ve really grown and developed as a player and a person, and I’ll be eternally grateful for that.
“I’m actually getting married here in Tassie next year, so I’ll be looking forward to coming back for that. Tasmania will always be a special place to me”
Macdonald joined the JackJumpers as a Development Player in the club’s inaugural 2020-21 season, before signing as a rostered player in the 2024-25 season.
Macdonald is on track to play NBL27 after straining his ACL during rehab work in April, on the back of a rupturing his ACL when playing for the Boomers in July 2024.
