In the interest of public safety, the NBL have elevated Tasmania to Level 3 COVID-19 protocols as of 30 December 2021 due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases both in Tasmania and interstate.
These protocols have impacts to accessibility to our players and coaches for our valued community and corporate partners, as well as media.
For the foreseeable future, players and coaching staff will only be available via electronic platforms such as Zoom or over the phone.
We understand this is frustrating and we will work to deliver great experiences for our stakeholders and look forward to our players being able to connect with our community face to face as soon as possible.
This means that players and coaches are unable to attend game day functions or fan signing and photo opportunities and will be restricted in their interactions with fans.
All media conferences will be completed via zoom including at training and on game day.
Player movement will be restricted to the dedicated clean zone and court area only.
Any personnel with accredited access to the clean zone (PMOA) is required to return a negative Rapid Antigen Test prior to entering the area.
The Round 5 game between Tasmania JackJumpers and Melbourne United on January 1 at MyState Bank Arena will proceed with elevated safety procedures, and in line with Public Health advice, to mitigate the risk for the club and the community.
All members, supporters, corporate partner representatives, broadcasters, media and staff over the age of 12 must wear a mask at all times whilst at MyState Bank Arena, only removing to eat or drink and replacing the mask as soon as finished.
We strongly encourage all fans attending our games to be fully vaccinated to protect themselves and those around them, and regularly use the hand sanitiser provided throughout the venue.
Fans must have their ticket scanned upon arrival and Check-In using the Check In Tas App QR codes displayed around the venue.
JackJumpers fans have been adhering to many of these protocols at the first three home games at MyState Bank Arena, and we thank the Tasmanian public for their cooperation in ensuring the venue are Covid-safe.
We ask that fans continue follow the direction of JackJumpers and event staff, and respect those around them.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation as we navigate the ongoing challenges and give our passionate home fans the best opportunity to continue to attend NBL games in Tasmania.
Playing squad update
Due to COVID protocols, Tasmania JackJumpers Center Will Magnay will not suit up against Melbourne United on January 1. Tasmanian Sejr Deans will be named in our 13 for the first time.
