RECENT FORM
The Tasmania JackJumpers produced their best performance of NBL26 against Melbourne United on Tuesday night and now face the challenge is to repeat it on Boxing Day and find some consistency. Import trio Tyger Campbell (20 points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals, two blocks), Bryce Hamilton (18 points) and David Johnson (14 points, 12 in the fourth quarter) all played key roles in Tuesday night's 92-73 win over United with Head Coach Scott Roth impressed with each of them. The roof was open at John Cain Arena and the Tasmania JackJumpers deliberately chose to not test the elements too much and their focus on the inside worked a treat with a dominant win over Melbourne United. It turned out to be a complete domination on the inside from the JackJumpers as they outrebounded United 51 to 31 including 14 offensive boards to five.
Josh Bannan adding 12 points, 12 rebounds and three assists, Will Magnay nine points and 10 boards, and Nick Marshall nine and two rebounds.
The Breakers bring a 2-0 record against the JackJumpers this season, but New Zealand head to Tassie at a crucial point in their season for a boxing day bonanza. Just three days after losing to last-placed Cairns, the Breakers were again humbled by an NBL struggler, going down 99–85 to the Brisbane Bullets in Brisbane on Monday night. The Breakers struggled offensively, shooting just 6-of-27 from three-point range and 17-of-27 from the free-throw line.
