Will Magnay Overview

Will Magnay had a delayed start to the season coming into preseason following a foot injury that was sustained while playing overseas.
This resulted in Magnay’s first game being in game 10 while playing away against Adelaide 36ers. Magnay played 12 minutes in his first game back and showed promising signs, but it was his second game back in New Zealand where Will showed how important he is to the team coming out and scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks in just 16 minutes of game time.
Will come off the bench for the majority of the season getting himself into a good rhythm with the players in the same rotation as him including Sean Macdonald who he formed a great pick and roll partner with.
Will came into his own during the finals series, where starting centre Marcus Lee got injured and he was required to play a larger role in the team.

Mags averaged 10.39 points during the season, and this increased to 11.67 points per game during the final’s series.
Will also averaged 7.22 rebounds during the season, along with 1.07 assist, and a league leading 1.56 blocks per game. Mags played 27 games this season appearing in every game except game 19 which he rested after landing awkwardly in the game before.
Magnay also recorded his 100^th NBL game this season which he got on Christmas Day where he recorded 8 points and 11 rebounds.

Mags had a season high of 25 points which he recorded in the seeding qualifier against Illawarra.
He recorded his season high in rebounds during his first game back in Tasmania for the season where he got 13 rebounds for the game.

Will Magnay Notable Regular Season Games

Magnay’s first game back home in the Silverdome was a night to remember as he came out and showed everyone why he is so highly touted in the league. He had 20 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
Magnay had another huge game when the team travelled to Perth on the 15^th of December. Mags had 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks in this game.

Will Magnay During the Finals

Will Magnay during the finals started to play a larger role within the team as the rotation became more limited. Mags had his best game of the year during the seeding qualifier where he scored 25 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals, and 4 blocks in the game. This game turned into the Magnay dunking show as he was able to roll to the rim constantly during the game and catch lobs from Milton. Jordon, and Jack.
Mags was able to put foul pressure on the opposing bigs getting to the line 9 times during the encounter while shooting 10 of 14 from the field.

Magnay was required to start for the JackJumpers in the finals as Marcus Lee was suspended in the first game against Perth, in game 2 and game 3 of the Perth series he was able to score 15points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists in game 2 of the series, and then went back over to Perth and helped seal the series with an 18point 9 rebound performance.

The final game of the Melbourne series was the epitome of Will Magnay as a fighter for the team, he went down early with a hamstring strain but was able to rally himself to push through for the game. He was able to play for 27 minutes during the encounter where he scored 11 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, and 1 vital assist which was recorded on the last play of the game assisting on Sean Macdonald’s layup which scored the final points of the season.
