JackJumpers Pre-Season Camp Wrap-Up
The Tasmania JackJumpers have successfully wrapped up their pre-season camp, marking a significant start to their preparations for the upcoming NBL season. Despite some last-minute changes due to unforeseen weather conditions, the JackJumpers demonstrated their commitment to engaging with their passionate North and North West Tasmanian fanbase through a series of events, training sessions, and community interactions.

Community Engagement
The JackJumpers made the most of their time in the North and North West by engaging with local school communities. The team visited Port Sorell Primary, winners of our “Defend the Island” competition during the finals campaign in April. The visit included a thrilling JackJumpers vs. students basketball match, where the entire school participated in competitions, activities, and games. It was an unforgettable experience for the students, and our players thoroughly enjoyed the challenge.
Additionally, the JackJumpers visited several other schools as part of our JackJumpers in Schools program, proudly presented by Huon Aquaculture. These schools included St Patrick’s Catholic School, Latrobe, Punchbowl Primary, Larmenier Catholic School, Waverley Primary, Ravenswood Primary, and Youngtown Primary. Over three days, the JackJumpers connected with approximately 1,500 primary school students, promoting active lifestyles, exercise, and positive team culture.
Intrasquad Games
With the unfortunate cancellation of the scheduled practice games against the Adelaide 36ers, the JackJumpers adapted quickly, hosting two highly competitive intrasquad games instead. Fans were treated to an intense showdown between Team Green and Team White at the Ulverstone Sports & Leisure Centre and Elphin Sports Centre.
The first game saw Team Green edge out a narrow 54-53 victory, with Anthony Drmic leading the charge with 17 points. Gorjok Gak also impressed with 11 points and 6 rebounds. On the opposing side, Walter Brown showed his potential by contributing 10 points and 7 rebounds.
In the second game, Team White emerged victorious with a 54-48 win, thanks to Brody Nunn's 15-point performance. Milton Doyle and Will Magnay also delivered strong performances, scoring 13 and 10 points, respectively.
The JackJumpers will continue their rigorous pre-season preparation as they build on the momentum gained during the camp. The team is focused and determined to bring their best performance to the upcoming NBL season, inspired by the support and enthusiasm of their fans across Tasmania.
The JackJumpers would like to thank all our partners, fans, and the local communities for their incredible support throughout the pre-season camp. We look forward to seeing you all at the games as we #DefendTheIsland once again this season!
