The Tasmania JackJumpers are delighted to announce the signing of shooting guard, Milton Doyle ahead of the 2022/23 Hungry Jack’s NBL season.
6’4 Doyle bring experience at the highest level having played 10 NBA games with the Brooklyn Nets during the 2017-18 season, when he was signed with the Long Island Nets NBA G League affiliate squad.
“Milton is a versatile guard, a strong shooter and high-level defender, and we’re really pleased to be able to bring him to the NBL for the first time.
“Obviously his experience at the highest level speaks to his potential and will be invaluable for us” CEO Simon Brookhouse said.
Doyle starred for Loyola Ramblers during his NCAA Division 1 career, where he was the first player from Loyola to make the All-MVC First team.
The 26-year-old returned to the NBA after signing with the Chicago Bulls in 2019, and was assigned to G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls. Doyle averaged 17.5 points, 5.8 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 2 steals per game during the 2019-20 G League season, which was shortened due to the COVID pandemic.
Doyle has also played in major leagues across Spain and Italy and was most recently the starting shooting guard for Gaziantep Basketbol in the Turkish Basketball Super League.
“Milton has proven to be a really unselfish player who really embraces the team-first mentality and plays to his own and his teammate’s strengths. He’s often been the ‘glue’ guy that connects the team together.
“I think his highlight reel will get JackJumpers fans very excited but his character will also come to the fore and be fantastic for us as we head in to year two in the League” Brookhouse said.
The signing of Doyle completes the JackJumpers 2022/23 season main roster with Development Player trials to be held in August.
Doyle joins the JackJumpers bloodline as the 14th roster player to be signed in the club’s short history and he will arrive in Tasmania to join the group for pre-season practice in August.
