Tasmanian fans have rushed to snap up free tickets to the Hungry Jack’s NBL Preseason Blitz with all but one of the 12 games in Tasmania now sold out.
A sea of green will flock to MyState Bank Arena for the JackJumpers historic first preseason game which will launch their new state-of-the-art home venue and open the Hungry Jack’s NBL Preseason Blitz against the Brisbane Bullets on November 14.
JackJumpers members were given a 24-hour presale opportunity from 10am on Wednesday and ticket allocations to many of the 12 games were exhausted within just hours of going live to the public. The first double header on November 14 was one of the first to sell out.
Tasmania JackJumpers CEO Simon Brookhouse said “we expected a strong response, but Tasmanians have really shown their appetite for NBL basketball.
“Our players can’t wait to get out there for a competitive hit out in front of a packed crowd. It will be an incredible atmosphere”.
Northern Tasmanian fans proved their passion for elite basketball with the ticket allocations for the five games scheduled for Ulverstone Sports and Leisure Centre snapped up very quickly.
Head Coach Scott Roth said “it’s great for us to go up North and build out fan base and show the whole of Tasmania what we’ve been working towards for over 12 months now.
“The Northern community are loud and proud basketball people so I’m excited that we get to have a competitive hit out in front of them”.
Fans are being urged to secure the remaining tickets to the Blitz as soon as possible if they want to be among the first to witness NBL preseason action in Tasmania.
“This tournament is a great opportunity for all teams to test new players, get some minutes in their legs and really get a feel for how they line up.
“Fans will also get a taste of what they can expect in our NBL22 games, starting from December 3. While we can’t give everything away in terms of game day entertainment, these games will certainly excite fans ahead of our historic inaugural season” Brookhouse said.
Limited tickets are still available to the final game of the NBL Blitz in Tasmania between Brisbane Bullets v Adelaide 36ers at MyState Bank Arena on Sunday 28 November at the venue (as of 1.00pm Friday 5th November).
The Hungry Jack’s NBL Preseason Blitz is supported by the Tasmanian Government.
All games will be broadcast on Kayo Freebies.
