JackJumpers Jack McVeigh and Will Magnay will ply their trade in European Leagues in the NBL off-season after signing with International teams.
McVeigh has signed with Heidelberg in Germany’s Basketball Bundesliga, while Magnay will play with Santiago-based Obraddoiro CAB in the Liga ACB in Spain.
“We’re really pleased that Will and Jack have secured deals overseas to play in the off-season. Experience in other leagues is only beneficial for our players and our program, and we look forward to watching their seasons with interest” CEO Simon Brookhouse said.
McVeigh and Magnay departed for their respective destinations last week, following season review meetings and medical clearance.
Both Magnay and McVeigh signed two-year contract extensions with the JackJumpers during the NBL23 season and they will return to Tasmania following the conclusion of their commitments in Europe in late May 2023.
Meanwhile, Sam McDaniel will remain in Hobart during the NBL off season after signing with the Hobart Chargers as the team try to defend their 2022 NBL1 South title.
