The Tasmania JackJumpers will face Championship Series rivals Melbourne United to tip off their NBL25 campaign at the NBL’s HoopsFest in Perth.

The JackJumpers will travel to Perth in September along with all other NBL teams for the first ‘HoopsFest’, a basketball celebration similar to ‘Gather Round’ which has proved overwhelmingly successful in the AFL.

All NBL teams will play one game for championship points as part of HoopsFest before the regular home and away scheduling resumes from Round 2.

We’re thrilled to support this new initiative from the NBL and we are honoured to open the 24/25 Season against our arch rivals Melbourne United I'm  sure it will once again be a fiercely competitive game and live up to the excitement experienced in the epic Championship series this past season” CEO Christine Finnegan said.

The multi-day HoopsFest will bring together all NBL and WNBL teams for the first time ever, tipping off the season with a spectacular fusion of basketball, music, culture, and entertainment.

HoopsFest is more than just a basketball event; it’s an all-encompassing festival featuring the Foot Locker U18 Australian Club Championships, an interactive fan zone, the world-famous Sneakerland exhibition, live music, mouth-watering food, and a plethora of entertainment. With family tickets starting at just $60, HoopsFest offers unbeatable value during the school holidays.

“HoopsFest is the first of its kind and is set to be the biggest and best weekend in the sport’s history, and we are thrilled to bring it to life for the first time in Perth,” NBL CEO, David Stevenson, said.

Fans can watch HoopsFest LIVE on ESPN via Kayo Sports & Foxtel

Fans can pre-register their interest for tickets at HoopsFest.com.au to JackJumpers Members on sale from Friday, May 31, and general public tickets on sale from Tuesday, June 4.
