Will Magnay – Gold Coast Rollers
Will Magnay and the Gold Coast Rollers played in a high scoring affair against the Mackay Meteors. Will scored 20 points, pulled down 4 rebounds, while also recording 1 assist, 1 steal, and 2 blocks.

Sean Macdonald – Darwin Salties
Sean Macdonald and the Darwin Salties had a close loss against Rockhampton. Sean has continued to impress this season with a 19 point, 6 rebound, and 8 assist performance on 46% shooting from the floor.

Fabijan Krslovic – West Adelaide Bearcats
Fabijan Krslovic was part of a hard-fought defensive contest over the weekend which saw the West Adelaide Bearcats come up 3 points short of the South Adelaide Sabres. Fab was a standout player for the Bearcats where he had an 18 point, 17 rebound double double where he was also able to get 5 assists.


Majok Deng – Al Ahly Ly – The BAL
Majok Deng is back playing in the BAL for the leagues finals series. He played in 2 games over the weekend. In the quarter final he had 18 points on 6-9 shooting where he was also able to grab 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and record 1 block.
In the second game of the weekend for Majok and Al Ahly Ly, Majok was able to lead the team in scoring with 25 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and record 1 block.

Milton Doyle – Indios de Mayaguez
Milton Doyle has played 3 games in the past week including a 35 point game against Leones de Ponce.
Milton had 35 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists on 53% shooting on the 22^nd of May.
He then had another game on the 24^th of May where he had 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists.
He had his third game this morning on the 27^th of May where he had 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in what was a shooting masterclass from Milton as he is 7 of 10 from 3 in the first half.

Hobart Chargers
WOMEN

Casey Cavaliers (74) lost to Hobart Chargers (90)

Hobart started the game strongly away from home to be leading 18-11 by the end of the first quarter but Casey responded well with 23 points to 18 in the second frame to cut the Chargers lead to just two by the main break.

However, Hobart took control in the third period with them scoring nine straight points to end up leading by as much as 16 points.

That lead got out to as much as 19 points in the final quarter as well before they won by 16 in the finish to snap the losing run and improve to a 4-8 record on the season.

Zoe Richards delivered 22 points and 10 rebounds for Hobart with Cierra Walker knocking down 5/9 from downtown for 19 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Jayda Jansen also contributed 15 points while Kayla Steindl had 14 points, 13 rebounds and four assists.

 

Eltham Wildcats (90) defeated Hobart Chargers (85)

It was a high scoring opening to the contest with Hobart leading 31-25 by the end of the first quarter with the Chargers still holding the 51-47 advantage at half-time.

Eltham took over in the third quarter with 22 points to 15 but their lead was back to one in the final minute after a bucket for Hobart by Zoe Richards.

Hailey Leidel responded with the biggest shot of the afternoon to hit a three ball for the Wildcats and that saw them hold on for the five-point victory.

The Chargers Cierra Walker delivering 25 points, four assists, three rebounds and three steals.

Kayla Steindl put up 23 points, five rebounds and three steals, Zoe Richards 21 points, six boards and four steals, and Jayda Jansen 11 points and eight assists.

 

MEN

Casey Cavaliers (98) lost to Hobart Chargers (99)

It was the Cavs who had the better of the start to be leading 25-17 at quarter-time before they opened up an 18-point break in the second quarter, and were still on top 50-41 by half-time.

Casey went back out to an 11-point advantage in the third quarter but the Chargers worked back into the contest and even found themselves leading by two after a Jordan Hargrave bucket with two minutes remaining in regulation.

Dillon Stith then levelled scores up once more for the Cavaliers before two Vionte Daniels free-throws had Hobart back up two with a minute to play.

It would be Stith who again levelled scores with a jumper following a Casey offensive rebound, and the scores would remain tied at 90-90 with Daniels and Preston Bungei missing attempts at a winner for their respective sides.

Then in overtime, Daniels opened proceedings with a three-pointer before he scored another bucket to help Hobart to a five-point lead. They would go on to win by a point from there on a dramatic evening.

Ole Angerstein delivered 24 points, 11 rebounds and two assists in the win for Hobart on 10/12 shooting while Joe Chilcott added 23 points, six boards and five assists on 6/11 three-point shooting.

Jacob Richards also had 19 points and 10 rebounds, Vionte Daniels 18 points, five boards and four assists, and Jordan Straatsma 10 points, four rebounds and two assists.

 

Eltham Wildcats (74) lost to Hobart Chargers (85)

The contest on Sunday at Montmorency Secondary College with the home team getting the better of the start with Eltham out to a 24-16 advantage by quarter-time.

The Wildcats were still leading 45-39 at half-time but then the Chargers turned the tide in the third quarter with 24 points to 11 to end up leading by as much as 12 points in the fourth quarter.

Hobart would end up scoring the 11-point victory to improve to an 8-5 record with Vionte Daniels delivering 22 points, seven assists, five rebounds and two steals.

Ole Angerstein added 18 points, 16 rebounds and four blocked shots with Jordan Straatsma contributing 15 points, two boards and two assists, and Jacob Richards 10 points, five assists and four rebounds.

 

Launceston Tornadoes
WOMEN
Geelong United (88) defeated Launceston Tornadoes (70)

The Tornadoes started strongly as well with a 25-18 lead already by quarter-time before pushing that advantage out to 16 points in the second period.

Launceston were still leading 48-32 by half-time and then got out to a game-high 18-point edge in the third quarter, but then Geelong started to work back into the contest on their home floor.

United scored 13 consecutive points to grab the lead and then to go on with the job in the final quarter with 32 points to 15.

Geelong's lead grew to as much as 18 points as well and that would be the final margin as the home team improved to a 5-7 record on the season.

Launceston slips to 4-8 on the season with the defeat with Lore Devos continuing her impressive form since arrival with another 20 points, 18 rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots.

Trinity Oliver also had 16 points and four rebounds, Josie Pinkerton 14 points, two boards and two assists, and Macey Crawford 11 points, four assists and two rebounds.

 

Waverley Falcons (80) defeated Launceston Tornadoes (63)

Launceston arrived attempting to bounce back from the Saturday loss to Geelong United and the Tornadoes did start well away from home to lead 15-13 by quarter-time.

But Waverley took over the contest in the second stanza with 29 points to 17 to go into the half-time break on top 42-32.

The Falcons were then able to continue to build on that lead throughout the second half with the lead growing to 15 points in the third quarter, and 19 in the fourth before they secured the 17-point triumph.

Lore Devos top-scoring once again with 19 points, 13 rebounds, four steals and three assists.

Trinity Oliver also had 12 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, and Sharna Appleby 11 points.

 

North-West Thunder
MEN

Geelong United (81) lost to North West Tasmania Thunder (89)

Geelong did start well to open up a six-point lead early on but the Thunder had opened up a 26-22 advantage by the end of the first quarter.

The momentum swings continued with Geelong scoring 14 points in-a-row in the second period to reclaim the lead and to hold the narrow 46-45 advantage by the half-time break.

It was Geelong leading by four points again with 3:45 remaining in the game following a pair of free-throws from George Blagojevic, but North West Tasmania then dug deep determined to keep their winning form going.

Seth Swalve hit a triple to bring it back to a one-point ball game before Sekou Sylla scored on the fast break after a turnover to put the Thunder back in front, and they never looked back.

From the moment Geelong led 79-75, North West Tasmania outscored them 14 points to two the rest of the way to score the eight-point victory and to improve to a 6-6 record as a result.

Seth Swalve top-scored for the Thunder with 21 points, six assists, four steals and three rebounds with Sekou Wylla contributing 20 points and eight boards, Arche Woodhill 15 points and seven rebounds, Ben Woolley 15 points and three boards, and Tre Armstrong 11 points, six rebounds, five steals and three assists.

 

Waverley Falcons (117) defeated North West Tasmania Thunder (77)

It was a horror opening to the afternoon for the Thunder with the Falcons going on an 18-0 scoring run to lead by 22 points and with the visitors losing Tre Armstrong for the rest of the afternoon in that stretch.

Waverley would lead 34-15 by the end of the first quarter before still being on control leading 51-38 by half-time.

It was then an even more dominant second half from the Falcons with 27 points to 16 in the third quarter, and 39 to 23 in the fourth for them to end up securing the 40-point victory.

North West Tasmania is now 6-7 on the season following the defeat with Sekou Sylla finishing with 19 points and 16 rebounds.

Archer Woodhill added 16 points and eight rebounds, Isaac Atuer 14 points and two assists, and Jake Afoa nine points, 10 rebounds and two assists.
