RECENT FORM 

The Tasmania JackJumpers return home to The Nest to take on 2025 champions the Illawarra Hawks after a challenging week, which has seen the team encounter multiple injuries and a tough loss to the Kings.

After losing Captain Will Magnay for the season with injury in the Round 17 Game, hearts were in mouths when Majok Deng fell heavily following a foul in Sydney on Thursday night, with the star now out with concussion. 

Local talent Ryley Haywood will join the team as an Injury Replacement Player for Deng. Haywood has been training with the group this year and will fit seamlessly into the systems while Majok is recovering. 

Bryce Hamilton has undergone precautionary scans and will be a game time decision on Saturday. 

With their trademark grit and grind determination, the JackJumpers are set to keep fighting to Defend the Island, with a strong 9-6 head-to-head record against the Hawks. 

“We’ll show up and do our best at home, and work as hard as we can,” Roth said post game in Sydney on Thursday night

“We have some things we can do very well, we’ve just had no time to practice with a smaller line up and actually execute anything since we got back from Perth. We’ll have to put our coaching hats on.”

The Hawks are far from having a dream season, with their championship defence hanging by a thread at 8-16, now sitting in eighth place after three straight losses. 

In their last game, the Hawks went down by 5 points against the Perth Wildcats at HoopsFest on January 16.

But the champs do have the benefit of 8-days between game days, as they now start three straight road matches beginning against the Tasmania JackJumpers tomorrow night.
