NBL1 South Tasmanian Team recap
Hobart Chargers
Hobart chargers played in 2 double headers over the weekend with the men’s team getting 2 road wins to help push them into 10th on the ladder with a record of 3 wins and 2 losses The first of the two games occurred on Saturday against the Nunawading spectres where Vionte Daniels and Jacob Richards scores 22pts and 20pts respectively and Ole Angerstein chimed in with 15pt 16reb double double.
The second win on Sunday against the Ringwood Hawks saw Vionte Daniels continue his high scoring weekend putting up 27 points, Jacob Richards added 24 points of his own and Ole Angerstein recorded another double double with 17pts and 16 rebounds. Joe Chilcott also recorded 12 assists helping the Chargers come out 10-point victors.
The Women’s team recorded 1 win and 1 loss over the weekend. They also took on the Nunawading spectres coming out 7 point victors with Kayla Steindl leading the way with 28pts and 11rebounds with Zoe Banks also contributing 20 points.
In their second game the Chargers came up short against the Ringwood Hawks with Cierra Walker and Coco Erin both recording 12 points and Claire Murray adding 11 of her own.
North West Thunder
The North West Thunder took on Mt Gambier in their opening game of the weekend with Tre Armstrong leading the way scoring 25pts as Sekou Sylla added in a 17pt, 17reb double double as the Thunder fell 7 points short.
In their second game of the weekend the North West Thunder took on Keilor Thunder in a high scoring affair Sekou Sylla starred with a 25pt 20 rebound double double with Seth Swalve adding 19 pts as the Thunder fell just short losing 105 to 96.
Launceston Tornadoes
The Launceston Tornadoes Took on Mt Gambier with Trinity Oliver scoring 20pts while Sarah O’Neill and Ava McDonald scored 10pt and 14pts respectively. As the Tornadoes came up short losing 79 to 63 points.
In their second game of the weekend the Launceston Tornadoes took on the Keilor Thunder where they lost their second game of the weekend losing 94 to 60 Trinity Oliver had her second 20point game of the weekend with a 21point performance.

JackJumpers Players
Anthony Drmic
Anthony Drmic returned to NBL1 Central with a bang to the champions of last year and ran up the scoreboard in the West Adelaide Bearcats 112-107 over the Southern Tigers at the Bearcat Cave.
Drmic’s 47 points with six triples was the second highest men’s score in the NBL1 Central since 2021.
