Tasmania JackJumpers star Jack McVeigh has won the Ray Borner Trophy as the most valuable player at the Hungry Jack's NBL Blitz.
McVeigh had an outstanding tournament, averaging 19 points at 59 per cent from the field, with almost four three-pointers per game, at an incredible 73 per cent from long range.
One of the standouts in the JackJumpers' miracle run to the Grand Final series in their inaugural season, McVeigh had been sidelined in the lead-up to the Blitz with a shoulder injury suffered while playing for the Australian Boomers. But his return couldn't have been more impressive.
The 26-year-old will head to Melbourne next week as Tasmania takes on the Phoenix in the NBL season-opener on Saturday, October 1.
