The Tasmania JackJumpers will honour the State’s basketball history by wearing the club’s Heritage uniform in home finals at MyState Bank Arena, including this Thursday’s Playoff Game 2 against the New Zealand Breakers.
“We know the fans absolutely loved the retro jersey design and so do our players. Our mantra is to defend the island and we know that we represent the Tasmanian people every time we step out, so to wear the heritage round jersey will embody that, it represents our values” CEO Simon Brookhouse said.
The Tasmania JackJumpers made a special request to the NBL to wear the uniform, inspired by that worn by the Tassie Devils in the early 1990s.
“The playing group were really passionate about wearing it and we felt it was important to our club and important to the people of Tasmania. The League were happy to approve it on that basis” Brookhouse said.
The team will wear the 2022/23 JackJumpers white alternate strip for away games during the NBL Finals.
