Four JackJumpers to continue to Defend the Island in NBL1

Fresh from inking a one-year contract extension with the Tasmania JackJumpers, defensive weapon Matt Kenyon is the latest JackJumper to sign with the North West Thunder for the NBL1 South season.

Kenyon will join Fabijan Krslovic, Sean Macdonald and Sejr Deans on Tasmania’s North West Coast at the conclusion of the 2021/22 Hungry Jack’s NBL.

JackJumpers CEO Simon Brookhouse said “it’s a testament to how much Kenny has fallen in love with Tasmania and wants to represent the state even in our off season. We’re so delighted he’ll remain in market with the other boys and give us a strong presence in the community”.

The four JackJumpers will engage with local basketball clubs, schools and community groups throughout the season, outside their practice commitments with the Thunder.

“We can’t get up to the North and North West as often as we’d like during the NBL season due to the practice schedule and away travel, so it’s great to have a big contingent of JackJumpers living up there over the winter months to engage with the community and promote our brand” Brookhouse said.

Kenyon completes a highly talented and enviable North West Thunder squad, which also includes young gun Lachy Brewer who has worked with the JackJumpers squad throughout the inaugural NBL season.

North West Thunder President James Leslie is thrilled to have a strong JackJumpers presence for the NBL1 South season.

“We couldn’t be happier with the guys we’ve secured. Matt Kenyon is one of the best defensive players in the NBL, Fab is a beast offensively, and Sean and Sejr have made huge steps in their development as really high IQ guards.

The Tasmania JackJumpers players will join the North West Thunder squad in May, after their 2021/22 Hungry Jack’s NBL season comes to an end.
