Rebecca Triffett latest key basketball identity welcomed to Bloodlines group

The Tasmania JackJumpers proudly welcome Rebecca (Bec) Triffett (nee Dick) to the Tasmania JackJumpers Bloodlines Group, recognising her extensive contributions to basketball.

With over two decades dedicated to the sport, Bec has made a lasting impact across administration, coaching, player development, and advocacy for women in basketball, particularly in Northern Tasmania.

Bec has played a vital role in shaping the game in Tasmania, serving on the NWBU Commission for five years and coaching at local, regional, and state levels.

A former SEABL, state and local player, she has also represented Tasmanian basketball at national events as a trusted delegate.

Following her playing career, Bec has become a sought-after coach at a state and national level.

Her coaching experience includes Tasmanian Institute of Sport Scholarship Coach (2006-2007), leading the Launceston Tornadoes (2010–2011) and serving as an AIS Women’s Basketball Scholarship Coach (2007–2009), Basketball Australia Elite Female Coach Advancement Program (2021-2022).  

Internationally, Bec has represented Australia as Assistant Coach Australia FIBA U19 Pacific Championship in 2013, and as Head Coach Australia 3x3 Women’s World Championships in 2013 and Head Coach Australia 3x3 Oceania Junior Championships in 2012.

Beyond the court, Bec has been a dedicated advocate for women in sport, a Community Basketball Development Officer, and the organiser of the 50-year NWBU celebration.

“Basketball has shaped my life, and I’m proud to be part of this legacy that connects generations of the sport.”

A passionate JackJumpers supporter, Bec was in attendance at the 2023/24 NBL Grand Final in Melbourne to witness the team’s championship victory.

Her lifelong dedication to basketball and commitment to its growth make her a worthy addition to the Bloodlines program.
