The Tasmania JackJumpers delivered a high-energy performance against the Perth Wildcats at RAC Arena, showing resilience and offensive spark despite a narrow 88-82 outcome. Milton Doyle led the JackJumpers with a stellar 30 points, including 6/12 from three-point range, helping the team set a high tempo from the start.
The JackJumpers opened strong, putting up 51 points by halftime—significantly outpacing their season average. Doyle and Jordon Crawford, finding their shooting rhythm, combined to go 8/13 from deep in the first half. Doyle’s sharp shooting was complemented by Crawford’s 14 points and four assists, while Anthony Drmic contributed a solid 11 points and four rebounds.
The game was marked by efficient shooting from both teams, with Tasmania hitting 13 of 22 three-pointers in the first half alone, and Perth responding with an impressive 8/17 from beyond the arc. Elijah Pepper (14 points) opened the second half strong for Perth, while Todd Withers (4/4 from deep) and Keanu Pinder provided critical scores in the final minutes.
Tasmania fought back from a seven-point deficit in the fourth, with Doyle’s back-to-back buckets briefly putting them in the lead. However, the Wildcats closed with a final seven-point stretch to secure the win.
Head Coach Scott Roth praised the team’s effort and shooting confidence, saying, “The guys are working extremely hard individually and as a group. Seeing the ball go in tonight is a good sign for us.” He added, “We just couldn’t quite execute in the last few minutes, but the resilience was there.”
The JackJumpers will look to build on this offensive momentum as they prepare to host the New Zealand Breakers on Saturday.
