The Tasmania JackJumpers are excited to announce the signing of guard Craig Sword as an import for the 2024/25 NBL Season. Sword has signed a one-year contract with the team.
Fittingly, the 6’3 American has most recently played with the Indiana Mad Ants in the NBA G-League.
“We’re thrilled to bring Craig into the program. He’s a defensive-minded, dynamic wing who’s energetic and will bring some extra flair. I think fans will really enjoy watching him,” General Manager Basketball Operations, Mika Vukona said.
After signing a 10-day contract with the Washington Wizards in 2021, Sword played 3 NBA games and spent almost two years with the Wizards’ G-League affiliate Capital City Go-Go.
“Craig brings some incredible experience across a range of international programs. He’ll be a strong leader both on and off the floor, and we believe he’ll be a great asset to the group,” Vukona said.
Sword recently represented Team USA at the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup Americas Qualifiers and the 2022 FIBA AmeriCup. He played college basketball for Mississippi State and has also played professionally in Poland, Mexico, and Venezuela.
“We believe Craig will be a great fit with the JackJumpers culture and complement the consistent roster we have retained from last season,” Vukona said.
Sword will join the JackJumpers in early August ahead of the club’s preseason.
