JackJumpers Triumph in Final Clash Before FIBA Break

The Tasmania JackJumpers secured a hard-fought 95-92 win against the Brisbane Bullets at MyState Bank Arena, demonstrating composure and depth to extend their win streak to two games.

Milton Doyle led the JackJumpers with 32 points, including an impressive 8/11 from three-point range—a career first. Doyle was pivotal in the final minutes, hitting three late triples to overturn a six-point deficit and ensure the victory. He also added seven rebounds to cap off a strong all-around performance.

Will Magnay and Sean Macdonald made successful returns to the court. Magnay contributed 14 points, seven rebounds, and three steals, while Macdonald added seven points and seven assists, providing much-needed playmaking off the bench in his first game of the season.

Jordon Crawford supported the team’s offensive efforts with 11 points and seven assists, and Anthony Drmic provided nine points, including two important three-pointers during a key third-quarter stretch.

The Bullets began the game with a dominant 17-3 run, capitalizing on efficient shooting and turnovers, and finished the first quarter leading 31-20. The JackJumpers clawed back with a strong second-quarter effort, reducing the halftime deficit to just three points (46-43).

Tasmania took control in the third quarter, building an eight-point lead heading into the final frame, only for Brisbane to fight back with Keandre Cook’s sharpshooting. Cook finished with 23 points and six three-pointers, helping the Bullets regain a six-point lead with under three minutes remaining.

However, Doyle’s timely scoring swung the game back in Tasmania’s favour, with his last three-pointer putting the JackJumpers ahead for good in the final minute.

The Bullets shot efficiently at 50% from the field and 12/22 from three-point range, with Tyrell Harrison (16 points, five rebounds) and Josh Bannan (15 points, nine rebounds, four assists) among their standout performers.

The Tasmania JackJumpers will now enter the FIBA break with a 5-8 record, while Brisbane, now 3-6, will look to regroup for their next matchup.
