Thank you, from your Tasmania JackJumpers
The Tasmania JackJumpers have wrapped the NBL26 season and in the words of Coach Scott Roth: “I can’t be more proud of them”.
Last night, the team fought hard for every Tasmanian to keep the finals hopes alive, but were ultimately defeated by Melbourne United 82-68 at the John Cain Arena.
Despite highs and lows, injury and recovery, the JackJumpers showed their trademark grit and grind to reach the post-season for the fourth time in five years with a 14-19 record.
Following the game, Roth reflected on the season, saying: “This is better than a championship in a lot of different ways for me.
“Seeing the grind that took place, to just suck it up and do what we had to do to get this chance in the finals, we should all be proud of what we did.”
The team’s on-court success is a credit to the extraordinary and unwavering support of our partners, members, fans and the whole state who rallies behind us – we thank you!
Executive Chair Steve Old said the Ant Army was the secret to JackJumpers’ success.
“There’s thousands of extraordinary supporters behind the five JackJumpers you see on the court at any one time, and we couldn’t do what we do without them,” Old said.
“The passion and love that Tasmanians have for our club drives us to continue to strive to represent the state with humility and hunger.
“We can’t wait to continue to Defend the Island next season for all of you – thank you for your support.”
