JackJumpers' hard work pays off

Tasmania JackJumpers guard Josh Adams says the club’s recent offensive explosion has not surprised the playing group.
After a slow start to the season on the offensive end, the JackJumpers have turned it around during their four-game winning streak, highlighted by a 36-point first quarter against Melbourne last weekend.
Adams always believed the shots would start falling, explaining how the team is full of offensive weapons.
“We are focused on what goes on inside the doors of this gym,” Adams said.
“To say we are surprised our shots are going in is the furthest thing from the truth.
“We have a great group of guys that are great shooters, great basketball players, and it was only a matter of time before these shots started to fall.
“We didn’t drink MJ’s secret stuff, it’s just a bunch of great basketball players who are working hard.”
Tasmania will look to become the first expansion team to win five games in a row since New Zealand in 2004, when they face the South East Melbourne Phoenix on Sunday.
Adams says the team is taking a confident attitude into the game, as they look to redeem their Round 8 loss to the Phoenix.
“The mood is very upbeat, very confident but we know we have an extremely tough opponent in South East Melbourne,” Adams said.
“We did not have a good showing against them fresh out of COVID. So, we're looking to keep the streak going but we know that we're going against a very talented and very difficult opponent in their home arena, so it'll be a tough one.”
Tip-off between the JackJumpers and Phoenix is 1pm AEDT on Sunday and the game will be broadcast on 10 Peach and Kayo Freebies.
