JackJumpers gifted Christmas Day Bonanza in NBL24 schedule

The Tasmania JackJumpers will make history when they host a Christmas Day blockbuster at MyState Bank Arena, bringing the JackJumpers family together for the most wonderful time of the year. 

Following the success of the 2022 Christmas Day game, the NBL will expand the schedule to a December double header with Tasmania to host a 5.30pm game against the South East Melbourne Phoenix, before the 7.30pm game in Sydney. 

“We’re delighted to host such an occasion and bring our broader community together for a momentous celebration” JackJumpers Co-CEO Christine Finnegan said. 

The 2022 Christmas Day game between the Sydney Kings and Melbourne United saw the first ever Australian sporting match played on December 25 and was hailed a resounding success, attracting a TV audience of more than 300,000 viewers. 

“We think the 5.30pm timeslot is perfect for the Tasmanian market, it gives people time to spend time with family and friends during the day and then enjoy a new tradition in the evening” Finnegan said.  

“Christmas Day is different for everyone, some people don’t have a lot of family around, others will come to the game with their loved ones or watch it on broadcast together. We’re very excited to bring the JackJumpers family together at such a special time”. 

Fans can expect a basketball wonderland as MyState Bank Arena is transformed on December 25^th bringing the magic of Christmas to the game day experience.

JackJumpers members who are unable to attend the Christmas day clash will also have the opportunity to give the gift of basketball this festive season.

In addition to the member buy back scheme the JackJumpers will implement a ‘Giving Tree’ where tickets unable to be used can be donated to those less fortunate in our community who otherwise would be unbale to attend a game.
