The Tasmania JackJumpers are gearing up for the fifth annual Teal Game on Friday February 6 at MyState Bank Arena at 7:30pm.
The annual Teal Game is in support of the JackJumpers local charity partner SHE Gynecological Cancer Group.
The Teal Game raises lifesaving awareness and vital funds for SHE’s plans to establish Tasmania’s first world-class Cancer Wellness Centre opposite the Royal Hobart Hospital.
The Cancer Wellness Centre, inspired by the late Jo Harris, represents the heart of SHE’s mission.
Ovarian cancer remains one of the deadliest cancers, with a five-year survival rate that has not improved since 1979. SHE is determined to change this through increased awareness, research, and support.
Since the inception of the Teal Game initiative in 2022, the JackJumpers, fans and the community have raised over $250,000 for SHE.
JackJumpers CEO, Christine Finnegan, said that the fifth annual JackJumpers Teal Game is one of the most important dates on the roster for the team.
“The Teal Game is bigger than basketball,” Finnegan said. “It’s important to raise awareness about ovarian cancer, and it’s also really important to the JackJumpers to continue to play a role in raising funds for the Cancer Wellness Centre.”
You can show your support by buying a Teal jersey, purchasing a virtual seat, buying a game-day jersey worn and signed by the JackJumpers, or donating at your local Chemist Warehouse. Links below:
