The Will Deal! Magnay inks two year contract

The Tasmania JackJumpers are thrilled to announce Centre Will Magnay has re-signed with the club on a two-year deal.

While Magnay’s 2021/22 NBL campaign was cut short with a knee injury, the key big man showed elite potential in his 11 games, averaging 5.55 rebounds and 2 blocks in NBL22.

“We are just delighted that Will has signed on for a further two seasons here in Tasmania. He’s a big body and an incredible athlete, and just a great young guy to have in our group” CEO Simon Brookhouse said.

Magnay is so far the only JackJumpers player to post a double-double, which came in the club’s historic inaugural game against his former team, Brisbane Bullets in December.

“We got a taste of what he brings to the team this season and the future is very exciting with Will on board.

“We know Mags has fallen in love with Tasmania and Tasmania has fallen in love with him. There’s plenty of our fans wearing Magnay jerseys out there and we know the ant army is going to continue to enjoy what he brings both on and off the court” Brookhouse said.

Magnay will work with the JackJumpers medical team throughout the NBL off-season in his recovery from knee soreness.
