Tasmania Goes Teal for Fourth Annual Charity Game
The Tasmania JackJumpers are rallying the community once again for the fourth annual Teal Round, proudly supporting their local charity partner S.H.E (Support, Hope, Education). The highly anticipated event will take place on Saturday, 8th February 2025, at 5:30 pm when the JackJumpers face the Cairns Taipans at MyState Bank Arena.
The Teal Round aims to raise vital funds and awareness for gynaecological cancers and S.H.E’s ambitious mission to build a world-class Cancer Wellness Centre in Tasmania. This facility will provide critical emotional and practical support to all Tasmanian cancer patients and their families, while S.H.E continues its ongoing advocacy for research into gynaecological cancers.
Ovarian cancer remains one of the deadliest cancers, with a five-year survival rate that has not improved since 1979. S.H.E is determined to change this through increased awareness, research, and support.
The Cancer Wellness Centre, inspired by the late Jo Harris, represents the heart of S.H. E’s mission. The Tasmanian Government has pledged $10 million toward the project; however, an additional $10 million is needed to make this dream a reality. To date, the Tasmanian community has raised an incredible $600,000, and funds from this year’s Teal Round will contribute directly to this cause.
Since the inception of the Teal Game initiative in 2022, the JackJumpers have raised over $150,000 for S.H.E through the incredible support of their fans and community.
Chemist Warehouse has joined the mission by setting up displays in 18 stores across Tasmania to raise awareness and drive donations. 100% of funds raised in-store will be donated to the S.H.E. Foundation.
“This is more than a game—it’s a testament to the strength and compassion of Tasmanians who want to make a difference,” said S.H.E Chair Scott Harris.
Fans and supporters can contribute in several ways during the Teal Round:
- Auction of Game-Worn Jerseys: All players’ signed shooting shirts and teal jerseys worn in the game will be available in an online auction starting 3rd February and closing the night of 9th February, with all proceeds donated to S.H.E. DONATE NOW
- Replica Teal Jerseys: Fans can purchase teal jerseys now, either online or at MyState Bank Arena, with a portion of the proceeds supporting S.H.E.
- Virtual Seats: While the game is sold out, fans are encouraged to purchase a virtual seat from 3rd February. Proceeds will go directly to S.H.E, and fans will receive a graphic to post on social media to show their support. BUY NOW
- Donation Stations: Located on the concourse at MyState Bank Arena, where donations over $30 will be rewarded with a limited-edition teal cap.
- Rally Towels: Everyone attending the game will receive a Chemist Warehouse x S.H.E teal rally towel sponsored by Nivea.
The JackJumpers will take the court in specially designed teal jerseys, shooting shirts, and teal socks, symbolizing their commitment to raising awareness.
Teal Jersey Purchase
The JackJumpers will debut this year’s teal jersey during the Teal Round, a striking design symbolizing the partnership and shared mission with S.H.E. Fans eager to show their support can purchase the teal jersey starting from Thursday, 23rd January at 10:00 am, available online and at the MyState Bank Arena merchandise store.
