Tassie shines on historic night

After a 26-year wait, Tasmania has returned to the NBL in winning style.

On a history making night, the Tasmania JackJumpers have won their debut game in the Hungry Jack’s NBL, defeating the Brisbane Bullets in overtime, 83-74.
 
The largest ever crowd for an NBL game in Tasmania (4,738) poured into the world-class MyState Bank Arena and were treated to a classic as the JackJumpers soared to victory.

The home side led at every change before the Bullets rallied to level the game at the final buzzer, sending the game to a dramatic finish.

An impressive dunk from Josh Adams late in overtime capped the win for Tasmania. Adams finished with 20 points while Josh Magette (19 points, eight assists) and Will Magnay (10 points, 11 rebounds) played important roles in the win.

A Nathan Sobey three pointer late in regulation sent the game to overtime but the Bullets star was ejected in overtime after a technical foul. Sobey recorded 24 points and Robert Franks had a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds for Brisbane.
