Simon Brookhouse's Letter to Foundation Members

On behalf of the Tasmania JackJumpers I want to warmly welcome you as a Foundation Member of the Hungry Jack’s NBL’s 10th club.
Just a few weeks after we launched the JackJumpers, we have already signed 2000 Foundation Members. This is an incredible response from the people of Tasmania and we are grateful and humbled by your support.
In the JackJumpers Tasmania now has a national sporting team it can truly call its own. A team for all of Tasmania and a team all Tasmanians can be proud of.
We don’t take your support for granted and we are determined to build the great club that Tasmania deserves. We want to provide world class entertainment and become an integral part of this community.
We want basketball to become the number one sport in Tasmania and inspire young boys and girls across the state to become future Boomers and Opals.
On a personal level, I’ve loved being back in Tasmania and reconnecting with not just the basketball community but getting around and meeting people across the state. It’s reinforced to me that this is your club and needs to reflect the values of Tasmanians.
In many ways our name reflects the story of Tasmania. Like Tasmania, JackJumpers punch above their weight. Like Tasmania, once you come across a JackJumper you’ll never forget it.
Tasmania has not only a proud history but an exciting future. The JackJumpers want to be part of this and be a team all Tasmanians can be part of.
Over the coming months we will make a number of exciting announcements including the appointment of our Head Coach as we turn our focus to putting together the best team possible on the court for our NBL debut in 2021.
In the meantime our off court team will be working hard to deliver on our promise to build a great club for Tasmania.
Thank you again for your support. Let’s show those mainlanders that the JackJumpers are on the march!
