Following an incident in the Australian Boomers game against University of Colorado last night, scans have unfortunately confirmed guard Sean Macdonald has suffered a ruptured Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).
Macdonald will meet with surgeons in the coming days to determine the next steps.
The Tasmania JackJumpers High Performance and medical team will work closely with Sean throughout his recovery and he will continue to be a key part of the JackJumpers in NBL26.
“We’re absolutely devastated for Sean” General Manager Basketball, Darren Smith said.
“We’ll do everything we can to support him in his recovery and keep him engaged in the program. He’ll absolutely still play a key role for us with his incredible basketball IQ, albeit from the sidelines”.
The Tasmania JackJumpers will now consider replacement players to cover Macdonald during his recovery.
