The Tasmania JackJumpers travel to Adelaide to take on the 36ers in the second of two fixtures in Round Five of the NBL25 season on Sunday. The JackJumpers will look to bounce back from a 71-80 defeat to the Sydney Kings on Friday evening at the Silverdome.
In Friday evening’s press conference when asked about the quick turnaround between games JackJumpers vice-captain Fabijan Krslovic said “That’s the nature of this league, the quality just goes up and up and every game presents a unique challenge”
Craig Sword is expected play more of a role in the game after playing limited minutes on Friday. Scott Roth said “He should have plenty of moments on Sunday, he should be quite fresh, and we will use him the best that we can. I expect him to play well for us”
Adelaide will be well rested after playing consecutive games last weekend, the second of which resulted in a comprehensive defeat by Melbourne United 106-79. Adelaide has been a high-scoring team this season, currently second in points per game at 92.3 which will be a great test of Tasmania’s defensive play.
Adelaide will be buoyed by the recent announcement of an extension through to the end of the season of former NBA player Montrezl Harrell who had been on a Nominated Replacement Player Contract for Jarell Martin, Martin is also expected to make a return from injury on Sunday. Harrell will go toe-to-toe with the JackJumpers Will Magnay. The clash of two of the most athletic big men in the league is anticipated to be quite the contest throughout the game.
JackJumpers Assistant Coach Mark Radford had the following to say about the upcoming clash with the 36ers “The guys are excited to play again quickly after a tough game against Sydney. We feel we have made some improvements on the defensive end and the way Adelaide are playing will really test us again in this space, so we are keen to get back on the court and continue to make improvements to our system.”
Tip-off on Sunday between the JackJumpers and 36ers is 4:30pm AEDT, live on ESPN and 10 BOLD.
