The JackJumpers displayed their trademark resilience in a hard-fought 97-91 victory over Melbourne United at John Cain Arena, securing their sixth consecutive win. Tasmania came out firing, putting up a dominant 36-point first quarter, with captain Clint Steindl knocking down three quick triples to help establish an early lead.

Melbourne United responded in the second quarter, using their size advantage to dominate the boards and create second-chance opportunities. They finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds, but their struggles from beyond the arc (10/32) and at the free-throw line (11/20) limited their ability to fully capitalize.

As the game tightened in the second half, the JackJumpers relied on contributions from across the roster. Reuben Te Rangi delivered a season-best 15 points, while Milton Doyle and Majok Deng made key plays on both ends of the floor. Jordon Crawford stepped up in the final period, scoring 12 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter to steady the team and keep United at bay.

Chris Goulding (18 points) and Marcus Lee (14 points, seven rebounds) led the charge for Melbourne, but Tasmania’s composure and defensive discipline in crunch time secured the win.
