RECENT FORM

Round 6 delivered drama, intensity, and unforgettable moments across the NBL, and none more so than Tasmania’s nail biting, gritty finish to beat the Kings on the road. Putting themselves in a tough position by being 16 down with under 8 minutes the play, the JackJumpers grinded back the deficit to give themselves a chance, and Nick Marshall took that chance with a miracle play from Will Magnay’s steal that is one for the club’s relatively short history books. The team’s never-say-die attitude proved too powerful for Sydney as they notched up a second win over the Kings in as many weeks. The JackJumpers (5-3) now return home for a busy stretch of home games starting with Perth on Wednesday.  The JackJumpers will be eager to continue the momentum on home court but will need to sharpen their shooting from beyond the arc and rebounding which has proved costly in recent weeks and put them on the back foot.

Perth are also battling some shooting woes from the 3-point line, and coming off a win against Cairns and a narrow loss to Illawarra. The Wildcats have also made a quick change of personnel, parting ways with import Mason Jones before quickly pivoting to contract former NBA guard David Duke Junior. The clash with Tasmania is likely to be Duke Jnr’s first outing in Perth colours after arriving in Australia on Monday.

In their last meeting, Tasmania came from behind to win in Perth 75-72, with import guard Bryce Hamilton scoring 26 and taking over after halftime.
