Milton Doyle Overview 

Milton Doyle retuned for the second year, coming off the back of a successful NBL23 campaign where he was right in the NBL MVP hunt having been instrumental in leading us back to the playoffs. Milton brought a high offensive tempo & ball handling skills to the game which allowed him to show up in games, evident in Game 21 against Illawarra Hawks, forcing the game to double overtime. Doyle also contributed as a playmaker, demonstrating his ability to create opportunities for his teammates. His passing and court vision were assets in facilitating the offence and finding open teammates.

After a disrupted season Milton Doyle was awarded the Fan Favourite at the JackJumpers MVP Ball & recognised in the All NBL Second Team at the Andrew Gaze MVP Awards. 
Doyle settled into his second season with the JackJumpers clocking up his 50th game for the club and league in Game 20 against Cairns, securing himself the Foot Locker Player of the Game.

Milton Doyle Statistics 

During the season Doyle clocked up some serious minutes, averaging 31.6 minutes a game, 15.7 points, 4.8 assists, and 5 rebounds per game.

Season high points – Milton scored his season high in points of 31 against the Cairns Taipans on the 6th of January at MyState Bank Arena.
Season high rebounds – Milton recorded 10 rebounds once in the regular season and twice in the final’s series.

Season high assists – Milton had 10 assists on February 4th against Adelaide 36ers and another time against Illawarra Hawks in the play in game.

 

Milton Doyle Notable Regular Season Games

Game 3 of the regular season saw Doyle score 25 points and 8 rebounds, leading the team to a 5-point win over Melbourne United at John Cain Arena. Doyle turned it on in the closing stages of the game This was a game where we trailed by 12 points with 6 minutes to play before Milton hit back-to-back 3 pointers to bring the deficit back to 6 points. Then with 2 minutes left on the clock Milton was able to get an isolated possession at the top of the 3-point line where he shook the defender off him before draining the triple. He followed this with a similar move but drove to the hoop pulling the defender to him where we got the ball to Marcus Lee for an open dunk levelling the score with a minute to play. With 20 seconds left on the clock Milton continued the last quarter heroics in a perfectly executed pick and roll action getting separation from the defender again hitting the 3 pointer giving the JackJumpers the lead on the back of his 12 points and 1 assist in 2 minutes of game time.


Doyle was instrumental in the double overtime game against Illawarra where he decided to take the game into his own hands trailing by 4 points with 20 seconds remaining Doyle got the ball from the sideline inbound slipping from his defender in the process getting himself open for the instant 3-point shot bringing us to within 1 point. Illawarra were then able to score a 2 pointer quickly down the other end as Milton brought the ball up with just 10 seconds left on the clock. Showing a turn of pace he got his defender on his back and that was all the space he needed to get another 3 pointer away evening up the scores as the buzzer went. He was able to stay hot during OT throwing some great lobs to Magnay and hitting 2 more three pointers.

On January 6th against South- East Melbourne Phoenix Milton Doyle racked up 31 points in a regular season high which went along with 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

Milton Doyle During the Finals

Milton was most prominent in the Play Off Series against Perth Wildcats where he scored 60 points across the series. Milton proved to be a handful in the second and third games of the series where he scored 24 points in both games, the home game he was able to score 24 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal while shooting 44% from the field.
He followed this up with another 24 point game, this time getting 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and almost getting the double double with 9 assists this being achieved on an ultra-efficient 56.3% from the field.

The Championship series saw Doyle play a season high of 39 minutes in Game 5, showcasing his skills as a playmaker & contributing to the Championship win.
