Tasmania JackJumpers are pleased to announce the signing of experienced forward Anthony Drmic ahead of the 2023/2024 Hungry Jacks NBL Season.

The 31-year-old joins the JackJumpers on a one-year deal after stints with the Adelaide 36ers and Brisbane Bullets across his seven-year NBL Career.

Drmic played a key role in the Adelaide 36ers NBL23 campaign where he averaged 10.32 Points, 1.52 assists and 3.36 rebounds per game.

  “I'm thrilled to be joining the JackJumpers and can't wait to get started with the team. Tasmania is a fantastic state and I'm excited about the opportunity to play in front of the passionate Tasmanian fans” Drmic said.

“It’s no secret I want to win a championship before I retire, and I believe Tassie are on the cusp of something really special and I want to be a part of that.

“I feel like the JackJumpers work ethic and culture is something that will really suit me and I’m excited by what we can build down there” Drmic said.

Drmic is the first signing for the Tasmania JackJumpers in the free agency period and will arrive in Tasmania with his wife Jenna and baby son Levi in late July. 

“From the outside, the JackJumpers seemed like such a family club and speaking to Scott, the staff and players has only reaffirmed that so I’m excited that Jenna and Levi will be on this journey with me and feel it’s the right fit for us”. Drmic said.

Co-CEO Jorrick Chivers said Drmic is a key piece in preparing a competitive roster for NBL24.

The 198cm forward is currently representing the West Adelaide Bearcats in the NBL1 Central Conference, averaging 23 points, 5 assists and 10 rebounds. 

Drmic joins close friend Jack McVeigh along with Will Magnay, Fabijan Krslovic, Clint Steindl, Jarred Bairstow and Sean Macdonald on the JackJumpers roster for the 2023/2024 Hungry Jack’s NBL Season.
