NBL preseason action returns to Tasmania’s North

Tasmania’s passionate North and North West basketball community will get a taste of NBL action when the JackJumpers host South East Melbourne Phoenix in two preseason practice games this September.
Tasmania JackJumpers entire playing roster and coaching staff will travel to the State’s North and North West for the week-long Bulk Nutrients Preseason Camp from September 2-9, ahead of the 2022/23 Hungry Jack’s NBL season.
“We’re delighted to be headed back to the State’s north for another preseason camp and to have Tasmanian company Bulk Nutrients back on board, helping us get to all areas of the State.
“Our fans in the North and North West are among the most passionate in Australia and we genuinely love getting up there and into the community” CEO Simon Brookhouse said.
The Bulk Nutrients Preseason Camp will culminate in two practice games against South East Melbourne Phoenix, at Ulverstone Sports and Leisure Centre on Tuesday 6 September and then at Elphin Sports Centre on Thursday 8 September.
Both games will tip-off at 6.30pm and are proudly presented by locally owned and operated furniture and electrical retailer in the North and North West, Begents.
“It’s always great to get to practice against another NBL team rather than against each other, and to get some competitive practice in before we head to the NBL Blitz tournament in Darwin later in September. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to showcase NBL level basketball to fans across the north of the State” Brookhouse said.
Tasmania JackJumpers will hold a number of community events during the Bulk Nutrients Preseason Camp including basketball clinics, plus club and school visits across the Burnie, Ulverstone, Devonport and Launceston areas.
“Being on the road for the preseason really helps the group bond but it is also a really important opportunity to connect with our fan base and inspire people of all ages” Head Coach Scott Roth said.
The two preseason practice games presented by Begents, will be ticketed and go on sale in late August.
JackJumpers members will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets before remaining tickets go on sale to the general public.
Fans are encouraged to stay up to date by following the JackJumpers social media pages and through the website.
The games will also be live streamed on the NBL Facebook and Youtube.
A limited number of new JackJumpers memberships go on sale on Monday August 15.
