Tasmania’s own MyState Bank will continue to put the power of their strong and reputable brand behind the team for all of Tasmania, the JackJumpers, through a new three-year partnership agreement.
The Tasmania JackJumpers and MyState Bank are delighted to sign the deal which will bolster junior basketball development in the state, support Tasmanians who aspire to play for the JackJumpers, and allow more Tasmanians to engage with the NBL.
“This is a momentous day for basketball in Tasmania,” said Christine Finnegan, JackJumpers Chief Commercial & Customer Officer and Basketball Tasmania Director.
“MyState Bank have believed in the potential and power of the JackJumpers – both on and off the court – from the very start, and we are thrilled to continue growing our partnership.”
The three-year deal will see MyState Bank elevated to Principal Partner, with the MyState logo to feature on the front of both home and away playing jerseys along with the club’s Foundation Principal Partner, Spirit of Tasmania.
“We proudly watched the JackJumpers embody the Tasmanian spirit in their inaugural year. They showed remarkable teamwork, played to win and their focus on culture is at the heart of the team’s success,” said Brett Morgan, MyState’s Managing Director and CEO.
“We’re proud to extend our support as a principal partner for the next three years. One of our values at MyState Bank is to create customer ‘wow’, and as part of the partnership, our customers will have access to a range of exciting opportunities both at the game and in the community.
“To have MyState Bank’s name on the front of the JackJumpers jersey is a big moment for us. We know what it’s like to be a challenger and take on the mainland, so believe there is great synergy between MyState Bank and the JackJumpers” Mr Morgan said.
Importantly, the partnership will see MyState Bank direct funding to junior basketball in the state, helping the JackJumpers and Basketball Tasmania further innovate and develop grassroots programs, with the goal of making basketball the number one participation sport in the state by 2024.
“Like the JackJumpers, community is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re pleased we can put our MyState Bank brand behind the ambitious growth of basketball in this state” Mr Morgan said.
MyState Bank contributed significantly to the impact of the JackJumpers brand in its augural season through the sponsorship of the club’s beloved mascot Jack the Jumper, who engaged with an estimated 100,000 Tasmanians during the historic NBL22 season.
“MyState’s support has allowed Jack the Jumper to travel to all corners of Tasmania and engage the community with basketball and with the team,” Ms Finnegan said.
“We’re now looking forward to strengthening our partnership and growing the game in Tasmania together”.
In addition to being jersey sponsors, MyState Bank will also be the presenting partner of the BTAS-JackJumpers Junior League, as well as ensuring the JackJumpers’ game day announcers Jimmy & Nath will be back for another season, revving-up the crowds at MyState Bank Arena and the Launceston Silverdome.
Further, MyState Bank and the JackJumpers recognise the need to grow the game through engaging fans beyond the live crowd at MyState Bank Arena, following a record-breaking season two membership sell out.
“The team at MyState is excited about an idea which will bring the Arena experience to more of our fans, through ‘Green Screen’ cinema-style experiences, which will broadcast JackJumpers games live on big screens around the state,” Ms Finnegan said.
“We recognised that if people are unable to get a ticket for the MyState Bank Arena, then we needed to bring the Arena to them. We’re continuing work on this Green Screen membership program, with details to be released soon.”
And there’s more to come. The Tasmania JackJumpers will be making another exciting partnership announcement over coming weeks.
