Dear Members, Fans, Partners and Friends of the Tasmania JackJumpers and Tasmania Jewels,
I want to take a moment to wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a safe, happy holiday period.
2025 has been another year of pride, progress and passion for basketball in Tasmania. Across both the JackJumpers and the Jewels, we have seen remarkable commitment from our athletes, coaches and staff, and unwavering support from our members and fans. Your energy in the stands, engagement in the community and belief in what we are building continues to be the heartbeat of our clubs.
This year reminded us that success is not only measured by results on the scoreboard, but by the culture we create, the pathways we strengthen, and the inspiration we provide to the next generation of Tasmanian basketballers. We are immensely proud of how both teams have represented our state - with grit, professionalism, and heart.
Looking ahead to 2026, we do so with confidence and ambition. We are committed to building on the strong foundations as we enter a new era with the Jewels as Tasmania deservedly re-enters the WNBL and have bold goals to be the most successful team both on and off the court, with the most passionate fans and best community engagement across the league.
We are continuing to invest in excellence with the High Performance Training Centre at Kingston progressing incredibly quickly and we look forward to making the state-of-the-art facility our new home from June 2026 and solidifying our place as a destination club for players, coaches, staff, administrators, and commercial partners in the NBL and WNBL.
Most importantly, we will keep placing our community at the centre of everything we do, and striving for sustained success that our members and fans can be proud of.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Your loyalty, passion and belief make what we do possible.
The JackJumpers have a heavy game load over this period with 5 games in just 11 days. This run is off to an exciting start with a dominant win over Melbourne United this week to tip-off what will be a crucial time in our season. For the first time in three years, our players, coaches and staff will be able to share Christmas Day with their family and families, before putting on another incredible game day spectacle on Boxing Day night, and work through the festive and new year period. While it’s a busy period both on and off the floor, we are honoured to represent Tasmania and to entertain the Ant Army!
To all those who keep us safe, our economy ticking over, and keep us entertained over this period; we are very grateful for your service.
To all those who may not be able to be with family this Christmas, we’re thinking of you and hope that watching the NBL, in person or on TV can bring you a sense of belonging and comfort at this time.
On behalf of everyone at the Tasmania JackJumpers and Tasmania Jewels, we wish you a wonderful Christmas and an exciting, successful New Year ahead.
We can’t wait to share 2026 with you.
Warm regards,
Christine Finnegan Chief Executive Officer
