The Tasmania JackJumpers congratulate Josh Bannan, Will Magnay and Ben Ayre, who have been selected in the Australian Boomers roster for the upcoming FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers, as announced by Basketball Australia today.
The trio have been named among a 15-man extended squad and will represent their country in front of passionate Tasmanian fans when the Boomers host the Tall Blacks in the first of two FIBA Qualifiers at MyState Bank Arena at November 28, before the series moves to Wellington, New Zealand in early December.
Magnay returns as a key member of the Boomers squad, after Captaining the group to Gold in the Asia Cup earlier this year. Bannan's strong form in JackJumpers colours early in the NBL season has been rewarded with another selection in Green and Gold, while Ben Ayre has been named as part of the extended squad in his first selection to the national team.
The core of the Asia Cup championship team has been retained with veteran additions to meet the respected challenge of the Tall Blacks.

Dean Vickerman will assume lead responsibilities on the ground as Associate Head Coach for the upcoming window whilst Adam Caporn tends to in-season duties with the Washington Wizards.
Vickerman, an experienced coach at the pro and national level, is in constant contact with Caporn in the USA and re-iterated the methodology.
“We’ve got different dynamics compared to the Asia Cup for these windows as all players will be in-season, so selections will be based on a combination of health as well as form,” said Vickerman.
“We have a lot of respect for our opponents (Tall Blacks) and we will need to find the right selection mix of prime players and rising stars.”
