Tasmania’s passionate North and North West basketball community will get a taste of NBL action later this month when the JackJumpers host Melbourne United in two pre-season practice game, presented by Begents.
Tasmania JackJumpers playing roster and coaching staff will travel to the State’s North and North West for the Bulk Nutrients preseason camp from August 25 – 30.
“We’re delighted to be headed back to the State’s north for another preseason camp. Our fans in the North and North West are among the most passionate in Australia and we genuinely love getting up there and into the community” Co-CEO Jorrick Chivers said.
The camp will culminate in two practice games against Melbourne United at Mazda BT-50 Thunder Stadium in Ulverstone on Monday 28 August and then at Elphin Sports Centre in Launceston on Wednesday 30 August. Both games will tip-off from 6.30pm and are presented by Begents.
“We’re excited to have Melbourne United here for a Battle of Bass Strait! It’ll be a great opportunity to test the squad against quality opposition and solidify our first block of preseason training” Chivers said.
“It’s always great to showcase NBL level basketball to fans across the North of the state and engage with the passionate fan base up there” Chivers said.
JackJumpers members will have first priority to pre-season practice games tickets when the presale opens on Tuesday 8 August at 10.00am, before any remaining tickets are released for General Public sale on Wednesday 9 August.
Tasmania JackJumpers will hold a number of community events including basketball clinics, club and school visits during the 6-day camp.
“Being on the road for the preseason really helps the group bond but it is also a really important opportunity to connect with our fan base and inspire people of all ages” Head Coach Scott Roth said.
