Chemist Warehouse is once again partnering with SHE Gynaecological Cancer Group to help raise funds as part of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
Last year, Chemist Warehouse encouraged customers to donate to SHE and raised over $60,000.
SHE Chair Scott Harris said last year’s effort made a huge contribution towards establishing a cancer wellness centre in Hobart.
“Every cent raised will go towards establishing the cancer wellness centre opposite the Royal Hobart Hospital,” Mr Harris said.
“We are well on the way to achieving our fundraising goal so that we can start building the Centre, but we’re not there yet and every dollar that we raise will get us one step closer.”
The Chemist Warehouse fundraiser is just one of the initiatives planned for the lead up to the iconic JackJumpers Teal Game on Friday, 6 February.
JackJumpers CEO, Christine Finnegan, said that the fifth annual JackJumpers Teal Game is one of the most important dates on the roster for the team.
“The Teal Game is bigger than basketball,” Finnegan said.
“It’s important to raise awareness about ovarian cancer, and it’s also really important to the JackJumpers to continue to play a role in raising funds for the Cancer Wellness Centre.”
You can show your support by donating at Chemist Warehouse stores or buying a Tasmania JackJumpers Teal jersey, which will go on sale on January 21.
The JackJumpers will also launch further fundraising initiatives including Virtual Seats going on sale later this month, and the auction of the Game Day Teal jerseys worn and signed by the players.
Last year Chemist Warehouse raised an incredible $65,000 through instore donations and this year is hoping to raise $100,000.
