The Tasmania JackJumpers are pleased to announce the members of the Club’s inaugural Board.

The Board will be chaired on an interim basis by Owner Larry Kestelman and comprise the following board members.

  • Keryn Nylander, Tasmanian communications consultant and company director
  • Steve Old, CEO Tasmanian Hospitality Association
  • Damon Wise, Tasmania General Manager of News Corp Australia
  • Janie Finlay, Councillor City of Launceston
  • Michael Bailey, CEO Tasmania Chamber of Commerce & Industry
  • Scott Harris, CEO Beacon Foundation

The Board will hold its first meeting in Tasmania next week.

Mr Kestelman said: “I want to thank all six of our board members for agreeing to join the Board of the Tasmania JackJumpers. We have assembled a board of passionate Tasmanians with an outstanding and diverse mix of skills and experience across business, government, media, community and sport.

“They will play an important role in guiding the JackJumpers through their first few years in the NBL and helping to build a club for all of Tasmania and a club all Tasmanians can be proud of.

“My intention is to Chair the Board for an interim period and hand over to a successor by the end of the current financial year. We will also look to add more members to the board over this period.

“We’ve been humbled by how Tasmanians are embracing the JackJumpers with over 2,300 Foundation Members already joining the march. There’s also been a lot of interest from corporate Tasmania and we are also working closely with the state and local government as we grow the club.

“The redevelopment of the Derwent Entertainment Centre (DEC) is underway and will be completed next year in time for the first game of the 2021-22 Hungry Jack’s NBL Season and we are progressing talks on also playing games in Launceston.

“We have also launched a global search for our inaugural Head Coach who will then build a playing roster to ensure the Club is in a highly competitive position as it prepares for its first season."
