JackJumpers forward Jarred Bairstow will remain in Tasmania in the Hungry Jack’s NBL off-season, after signing with the Hobart Chargers for NBL1 South.
JackJumpers CEO Simon Brookhouse said “it speaks to how much all the players love living and playing here in Tasmania and want to represent the state even in our off season”.
Bairstow will continue to engage with local basketball clubs, schools and community groups throughout the season, outside practice and playing commitments with the Chargers.
“We’re so delighted Jarred will be in market with the other boys on the North West Coast and give us a strong presence in communities across the state” Brookhouse said.
Bairstow played an integral part in the JackJumpers NBL22 campaign, starting in a number of games including Game 3 of the 2021/22 NBL Grand Final series.
Bairstow is recovering from an ankle innjury and is likely to play his first game as a Charger in mid-June.
