â– Chief Executive Officer
Christine Finnegan
Christine Finnegan is the Chief Executive Officer of the Tasmania JackJumpers.
Christine joined the club from its inception to the National Basketball League in 2020 and has played a pivotal role in the club’s ongoing success both on and off the court, culminating in the 2024 NBL Championship, which created history in the Australian Sporting Landscape.
Having built a strong and sustainable brand at the JackJumpers, Christine has brought together a family of iconic Tasmania and Australia companies to partner with the JackJumpers to help positively impact the community, while doing Tasmanians proud on the court. She oversees all non-basketball activity including driving all revenue streams, brand sentiment and activations, events and community.
She has recently been appointed to the board of the S.H.E Foundation, elevating the charity's fundraising and awareness efforts for thousands of women suffering gynaecological cancers.
Christine has over 25 years experience in professional sport commencing her career at Tennis Australia and progressing through the ranks of three football codes including Rugby Union (ACT Brumbies and Melbourne Rebels); Rugby League (Melbourne Storm); AFL (AFL Players Association and St Kilda Football Club) as well as the Commonwealth Games.
Born and raised in Canberra and a former competitive tennis player, Christine studied politics and worked for the Deputy Prime Minister for 6 years as a Ministerial staffer.
A sought-after public speaker, Christine is a passionate advocate for female representation in senior roles in sport and also mentors a number of young females embarking on their careers in sport.

Darren Smith
Highly respected former NBL Player and long-time administrator, Darren Smith joined the club in 2023 to oversee all club operations, high performance program administration, player recruitment, relations and welfare, community impact, and fiscal responsibility.
Prior to joining the JackJumpers, Smith was CEO at Basketball Australia Pathways, where he was instrumental in strengthening high performance pathways for Australian athletes to secure US College basketball program places and scholarships, as well as helping emerging athletes reach national and international representative honours.
Born in Victoria, Smith began his professional career with the Hobart Devils in 1994, the first of eight seasons in the NBL across four clubs before he retired after 211 games.
Having played professionally for over a decade throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Smith was already part of the broader JackJumpers family as one of 26 Bloodline members, a program initiated by Scott Roth to connect the history of Tasmanian basketball with the JackJumpers and beyond.

Alex Edgar
Alex Edgar is the General Manager of Commercial and Marketing
Alex Edgar has been a cornerstone of the Tasmania JackJumpers since its inception, starting her journey as Customer Engagement Manager, responsible for establishing and delivering the membership and ticketing program. Through her exceptional dedication and strategic vision, she quickly rose to become the Head of Consumer Brand, where she adeptly managed and evolved the membership program and enhanced the overall customer experience and journey.
Transitioning again to take on the role of Head of New Business & Customer Experience, Alex’s responsibilities have evolved to encompass new business initiatives, leadership workshops, and various non-BAU commercial activities, extending beyond partnerships and membership ticketing streams. Her strategic acumen and innovative approach have been pivotal in driving our commercial success.
Promoted to General Manager of Commercial, with tentative oversight of finance, Alex now oversees approximately 80% of the JackJumpers' revenue. Her primary objective is to achieve financial stability and growth through strategic partnerships and innovative business practices.
Before joining the Tasmania JackJumpers, Alex worked in the membership department at the Australian Football League (AFL) and with Ticketmaster, where she honed her skills in membership coordination and ticketing operations. Her experience in these roles has been instrumental in her ability to drive commercial success and growth.

Katelyn Davies
Katelyn Davies is the General Manager - Communications & Brand.
Katelyn is a passionate and strategic sports administrator with strong knowledge, relationships and technical skill across the Tasmanian and national media landscape.
Katelyn works closely with the High Performance team to ensure maximum internal and external promotion of the team, National Basketball League, commercial partners and community engagement. She oversees all internal and external communications, media and stakeholder relationships, social media engagement and content creation, brand vision and consistency,
Katelyn joined the club soon after its inception in 2021, establish the club's brand vision ensuring strong, recognisable and respected brand channels and assets that represent and reflect the club's values and mission. She also established the club's media and marketing strategy, ensuring strong stakeholder relationships and customer engagement.
Beginning her professional career as a television journalist in Tasmania, Katelyn moved interstate to report on some of the biggest sports events and stories, and forged an undeniable presence and strong professional relationships in the industry.
Over a decade in media production, Katelyn worked with Channel 7, Sky News, Triple M (Southern Cross Austereo) and Fox Sports News, honing her skills in strategic communications management, content creation and team operations.
With a strong camera presence and warm, engaging nature, Katelyn is also a highly sought-after event and media MC and regularly hosts key JackJumpers events as well as for some of Tasmania's biggest organisations and events.
