This past weekend, NBL1 basketball action heated up across Tasmania with a total of eight games spanning over Friday and Saturday. 

On Friday, the women's teams set the pace with the Hobart Chargers facing a tough 60-79 loss against the Dandenong Rangers, while the Launceston Tornadoes were overwhelmed by the Waverley Falcons, 69-101. The men's games saw a reversal of fortunes for the Chargers, who claimed a victory over the Rangers with a score of 85-73. Meanwhile, the North West Thunder were unable to fend off the Falcons, succumbing with a score of 77-97.

Saturday's games continued the intense competition. The Hobart Chargers women's team encountered another setback, losing 66-80 to the Waverley Falcons. The Launceston Tornadoes also faced a defeat from the Dandenong Rangers with a score of 72-84. On the men's side, the Chargers narrowly missed out in a close match against the Falcons, ending at 85-93. The North West Thunder struggled against the Rangers, falling significantly with a score of 71-101.
